Dear Friends, Colleagues and Brothers/Sisters in Blue,
As many of you have heard, Officer Dave Pubins was the victim of a very serious accident. While at home, off-duty, he was riding his bicycle with his wife, when he was struck from behind by a motorist. Dave suffered severe injuries which included, a traumatic head injury, broken clavicle, a crushed ankle and many other lacerations an…d contusions.
Immediately after the accident Dave was put into a medically induced coma. He has since been brought out of the coma and is breathing on his own. Recently he was transferred from ICU to a rehabilitation center to continue his road to recovery.
The true extent of Dave’s injuries will not be known for quite some time. This means that Dave, who recently retired from Scottsdale PD and began working as a Police Officer for the Maricopa County Community Colleges Department of Public Safety, will be off work for an extended period of time.
Unfortunately, because Dave is a fairly new employee he has a very limited amount of medical leave accrued. In fact, as of this letter, it has probably all been used. This has left his family in a tight spot.
In consultation with Dave’s family, we are asking for donations to help pay for medical and living expenses while Dave heals.
To make a donation that will go to assisting Dave’s family in their time of need please make out a check to “Arizona LEOS” (Arizona Law Enforcement Outreach & Support is a 501c3.) This donation is to our Triple “999” program for circumstances where law enforcement need immediate help and support.
