Assistant Chief Karl Auerbach has been in law enforcement for almost 30 years and has served the people of the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community with honor and distinction for almost 24 years. This year, he has chosen to make one of the biggest sacrifices of his career for the children of the Community, but we need your help.

A/Chief Auerbach has agreed to shave off his signature moustache, which has also been serving law enforcement for almost 30 years; if we are able to raise $3000.00 (one hundred dollars for every year of service) for the “Shop with a Cop” program. In order to make this happen, the Salt River Police Department has put together a “Go Fund Me” account and we need your donations.

The Salt River Police Department has been a part of the “Shop with a Cop” program since its inception 13 years ago. One hundred percent of the donations go toward purchasing gifts for children in the Community for Christmas, which will take place on December 19th, 2015.

The Go Fund Me account will close on Friday December 11th, 2015 and if we meet our $3000 goal, Chief Auerbach will shave off his signature “Moustache” in a public ceremony on Monday December 21st, 2015.

A/Chief Auerbach a native Arizonan from Nogales, Arizona graduated from the Phoenix Police Department’s Regional Training Academy (class number 164) in 1980.  He has proudly served the Salt River Police Department for over 23-years with the last 16-years as the Assistant Chief of Police including two stints as the Acting Chief of Police. He is currently serving as the department’s Chief of Staff, responsible for the administration and management of the Salt River Police Department’s Budget, Contracts and Grants, Strategic Planning and Policies and Procedures. He serves on numerous law enforcement boards and is a well-known figure throughout the region.

A/Chief Auerbach said that he loves serving the Community and did not hesitate at this challenge, for the kids of course!

Please join us in this effort by making your online contribution to the account today.
